How do I re-install SymPhoTime after changing my computer or upgrading the operating system of my MicroTime 200?
Getting everything from the old computer
- Find the path where SymPhoTime is installed by right-clicking on the Desktop shortcut and selecting “open file location”
- Find the settings.pfs file and make a backup copy. (This files contains all the basic hardware settings and some settings of the appearance of the software
- Make copies of the User-settings files (*.PUS). These will be wherever you saved them.
Installing on the new computer
- If you do not have the installation DVDs any more, contact PicoQuant support (support@picoquant.com) for the download links for your software and drivers. Let them know your MicroTime 200 serial number.
- Install everything according to on-screen instructions
- Copy the “settings.pfs” file into the SymPhoTime 64 installation folder. You can change the filename of the existing file to have it as a backup (for example as “settings_default.pfs”).
- Restart the computer
- If you were using user settings: Start SymPhoTime, load the user setting you'd like to use, and “save user settings as file and desktop shortcut”. This will create a shortcut from which you can directly start SymPhoTime with these user settings.
